Strax före jul 2020 frågade mina medskapare och systrar Nasim Aghili och Rani Nair om jag hade lust att göra ett ljudverk av deras röstmeddelanden, som de hade skickat till varandra under två intensiva dagar i oktober 2020. 
– Går det att göra något av det här tror du?
Då – inte när frågan ställdes utan då då i oktober – var de mitt i arbetet med att skapa första Finding Sisterhood Mini Festival/Party/Solidaritetsakt/Dröm som äntligen skulle braka loss i november 2020.
Det brakade. Och sprakade.
Men inte irl som det var tänkt. Finding Sisterhood Mini Festival blev istället en äventyrlig och kärleksfull kväll online. Men det visste vi inte då. Då när de här röstmeddelandena skickades mellan Lund, Stockholm, Lund, Järna, Lund. Skogen, vägarna, stigarna och staden.

Finding Sisterhood* is a decolonising and queer mapping of contemporary dance and performance. This mapping departs from a need to mobilise a movement and name aesthetic movements that are vibrating and vital to contemporary dance and performance while at the same time being marginalised in its history and archives. Finding Sisterhood is one of many sisterly acts where space and platforms are shaped to present and create collective languages for artists who instead of discussing whiteness, cis and hetero norms are in conversation with their own communities.

*In this project, we use the term sisterhood to describe a non-hierarchical act of solidarity. All our siblings are welcome!
